A HIDDEN PARADISE IN NORTH PATAGONIA

THE SANCTUARY

Sanctuary Pehuén is a reserve of the only biosphere in the world, preserved naturally for thousands of years, located in South America, in Northern Patagonia, in southern Chile. This natural paradise is a private field, located within the Villarrica National Park, which protects and preserves the flora and fauna of its surroundings.

The field has an area of ​​203 hectares, composed of native forests, open meadows, streams and rivers.

It is crossed by abundant bodies of water, covering an area of ​​3.63 hectares within the field. In it we find multiple waterfalls, 3 streams or estuaries and more than 1800 meters from the bank of the Puesco River

Of these waters, the Pehuén Sanctuary has registered rights for its use throughout the year, which are included in the sale, and ascend to the amount of 1,250 liters per second of permanent and continuous use in high seasons.

This wonderful plot consists of a rustic cabin of 90 m2. A cozy mountain refuge for 6 people and a barbecue area, built on one of its meadows at the edge of the "El Colmillo" Estuary.

The panoramic views of the Pehuén Sanctuary are majestic. From its meadows and hills we can see the Lanin Volcano, the Devil's Fang, the Peinetas mountain range, surrounding valleys, large waterfalls and a great diversity of colors in all seasons of the year.

Its native forests house mainly Araucarias, Canelos, Notros, Lengas, Tepas and types of oak such as Ñires, Coihues and Raulíes.

Wild life abounds in the Pehuén Sanctuary. Being surrounded by the Villarrica National Park, all its wild fauna travels freely through the countryside, where we can find the Puma, the Culpeo Fox, the Monito del Monte, the Kod Kod, the Chingue, the Jabalí, the Pudú and the Darwin's Frog , among others.

Throughout the skies, the forests and the waters of the countryside, it is common to spot several endemic bird species in this area. As are the Condor, the Black Eagle, the Kestrel, the Carpenter, the Kingfisher, the Owl, the wild goose or Canquen, the Chucao and the Great Bustard, among others.

At 25 km from the field we can find Curarrehue, a mountain town that counts on the basic services of supply. And 60 km, the city of Pucón, tourist capital of the region, which offers ski center, large supermarkets, shops, restaurants, hotels, hospital and casino.

The Lacustrine Zone of the Araucanía Region is known for its thermal baths, its volcanoes, its lakes and rivers, its exuberant vegetation and its adventure sports.
